Hosted by the DIA and featuring leading interior designers, this panel session will delve into the critical topic of professional recognition and regulation. The discussion will cover the DIA Interior Design Working Group’s advocacy efforts to secure recognition for Interior Designers as Building Practitioners under the NSW regime, and examine the latest proposed changes to the NSW Home Building Act and their potential impacts on the profession. Furthermore, the panel will address the importance of investing in an accreditation and registration/licensing regime for Interior Designers, outline what this regime might look like in the future, and provide guidance on where to find information about Accreditation.
